If that guy had advertised it as "Rusnok milling head", he probably (I don't know what you paid) could have gotten 2 to 4 times more for just the head without the "drill press looking" stand.. The seller was a professional machinist, so he knew what it was & advertised it as being good to add to a small horizontal mill.

Rusnok Tool Works was established in 1938 by John Rusnok and Edward R. Rusnok. Based on the sparse information we can find, it appears that their early products were milling heads, tool holders, and other machine accessories. By the late 1940s they were producing precision milling machines for small-scale work such as model making and watch making.

The collet draw bar shown above, the indexing head, and the vertical head use 3SB/3C collets. The 3SB collets and 3C collets are the same size - so no problem there. For any vertical milling that this machine can not do, I'll use my Rusnok milling machine.

I just bought a smaller horizontal mill with a add on vertical head. It's a Rusnok head, Model 70 . Belt drive, 5 speeds. 380,700, 1200, 2500, and 5200 rpm. It has a quill with an 1 1/2 inch travel and a 1/2 inch collet with a 3/8 split bushing in it. ( so I could use 1/2 or 3/8 cutters without any extra work).

The horizontal mill requires imagination for the infinite number of set-ups required when milling things, but that is all. It will do whatever you can imagine within its' envelope. I also purchased a Rusnok milling head while Rusnok was still an active company. I was able to do anything then. Buy this video if you have a horizontal mill.

It looks like version / clone of US made Rusnak mill. Same head shape, same round bar. same handle bar. Ask whatever it is 5000 rpm. Same identical number of screws in the head. It needs cleanup but if it works it could be a good deal - price seems a bit high for a clone.
