Stoichiometric amounts of CaCO 3, MnO 2 were mixed with deionized water and milled for 6 h at 350 rpm in a planetary ball mill. The ball, deionized water to powder weight ratio was 5:6:1. The slurry dried in an oven and then heated at 1100 ̊C in a muffle furnace for 12 h. The fine powder was obtained after grinding and sieving.
